And if you're still looking for amazing views after the sun has set, you can indulge in some star gazing with a sky that's uninterrupted by any city lights.

Despite the lodge's splendid privacy, Napier village is just 4kms away at the foot of the mountain, so you're not far from a variety of delicious ethnic and international cuisines, a thriving art scene and a friendly chat with the locals.

Should you want to explore the rest of the region, a 45-minute drive will lead you to the secluded white, sandy beaches of Arniston Bay/Waenhuiskrans or try the art and craft markets of Bredasdorp or whale-watching in De Hoop.
