22 States of Matter

Matter can exist in many phases other than the most common solid, liquid and gas phase. The forth state of matter is plasma, and Bose Einstein Condensate is the fifth. Other than these, there are various exotic forms which exist only at certain temperatures and pressures, such as degenerate matter, which exists in neutron stars and white dwarfs, where temperature and pressure are extremely high. Quark gluon plasma or glasma, exist at very high energy state but currently they are created and studied in the Large Hadron Collider. Rydberg Polaron is yet another exotic form of matter. Excitonium, Quantum spin hall state, Fermionic Condensate, Superconductivity are some of the most exotic states. Even photons can behave as matter, forming molecules. Superfluid and Super solid are states in which matter can flow or move without friction. The most bizzare are time crystals. Unlike ordinary crystals which repeat their structures in space, time crystals do the same in time as well.
