Children's Kung Fu shadow boxing Using the power of Northern Praying Mantis Kung Fu. Here at the Northern Praying Mantis Kung Fu school we try and encourage the children and adults to be creative and to do this we get our students to do shadow boxing. This encourages the student to think about his attack and defense and also to work on their different stances and to implement their footwork and fluidity, combining with speed and different combinations off attacks, developing muscle memory, reflexes and greater concentration, it's an excellent training aid to add to your training. Often see boxers doing shadow boxing and they seem very confident in their own abilities because they've put the work into it, yet not many students in kung fu generally do this, and if they do they look like boxers instead of kung fu Fighters. We would encourage you to use your techniques as you've been trained in your own schools and to have the faith and courage to implement this, because if you're not doing this then you might as well be doing boxing. So guys have faith and courage in your own abilities in what you do and keep the spirit of kung fu alive. And I would like to say well done to Young Laurent, he combined his techniques really well and he showed defensive and attack moves combined with his stances, this is not easy for children or adults but he did it off his own imagination using his techniques and whatever came into his mind, excellent...
