Back to the plot and our final confrontation with Steele! He's transformed himself into a monstrosity with the intent of turning on the technology of the ship you're on and that means the end of free will for the solar system, perhaps the galaxy itself!

Prime has a monstrous amount of HP and will attack your entire party consistently so you can either aim to grind him out with HP regen and all heals or go for the throat since he's weak to Water and Ice. Arete is a mandatory party member for this fight and has some pretty strong Ice attacks by this point so she can exploit one weakness while Alyssa powers up for a Water Cannon (though its damage output will vary depending on how many power ups you use).

After a long fight Steele is finally defeated but in a surprise twist Arete reveals that there is an even greater threat known as Eternity and she has ties to it!

Apparently Arete is a scientist who has lived for longer than we knew and has come under the influence of Eternity, all of her actions being done in order to revive Eternity which can only be done with the Lumina Device you've been hanging onto since the beginning of the game. In a very quick fashion Arete forces the Lumina Device to attack the party and takes the device from Alyssa before escaping. To make matters worse the asteroid is starting to break apart so the party has no choice but to escape as the mysterious ship reveals its true self and with it the Very Definitely Final Dungeon is here. All this rewards you with a trophy and yes Arete has left your team permanently.

Back on the ship the party puts together everything that's happened and come to the decision to shut down Eternity before it can fully awaken and with that we've come to the end of the road to which I suggest making a separate save. Once you head to the final dungeon you CANNOT RETURN and you may want the option to explore the world and grind, etc.

With that said now that we're at the end game the final batch of side quests will have opened up and the shops on your ship will have gotten their last batch of equipment and with it you get some decent armour for a few characters (namely Psybe). You'll also be coming across many of your characters best weapons (Cahn you'll need to go back to the 3rd planet for as oddly enough you just have to buy it while everyone else will get them via chests/bosses) AND there are 3 superbosses to defeat that will net you a trophy each!

The end of the main storyline may be nigh but there's still much to do!
