🍪 Cookies & Cream Cinnamon Rolls Recipe
🥣 Tangzhong (Starter):
▪️ ¾ cup water
▪️ ¼ cup all-purpose flour
🍞 Dough:
▪️ 8 Oreo cookies
▪️ 3 ½ cups all-purpose flour
▪️ ⅓ cup granulated sugar
▪️ ¼ cup Oreo cookie crumbs
▪️ 2 tsp instant yeast
▪️ ¾ tsp fine sea salt
▪️ ½ cup warm whole milk
▪️ 1 large egg (room temp)
▪️ ½ tsp vanilla extract
▪️ Tangzhong (from above)
▪️ 4 tbsp unsalted butter (room temp)
🍫 Filling:
▪️ ⅔ cup brown sugar
▪️ 4 tbsp unsalted butter (room temp)
▪️ ⅓ cup Oreo crumbs
▪️ 1 tbsp black cocoa powder
▪️ ¼ tsp cinnamon
🧁 Icing:
▪️ 4 tbsp unsalted butter (softened)
▪️ 1 oz cream cheese (softened)
▪️ 1 cup powdered sugar
▪️ 3 tbsp heavy cream
▪️ Oreo crumbs or chopped Oreos for topping
👩🏽🍳 Step-by-Step Instructions:
▪️ Line a 9x13 pan with parchment paper.
▪️ Process Oreos into fine crumbs.
▪️ Make the tangzhong: cook flour + water until thick, let cool.
▪️ In a mixer bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, Oreo crumbs, and salt.
▪️ Add egg, milk, vanilla, and tangzhong. Mix on low until shaggy dough forms.
▪️ Add butter one tbsp at a time. Mix until fully incorporated.
▪️ Knead for 8–10 mins until smooth and elastic.
➤Too sticky? Add flour 1 tbsp at a time.
➤Too dry? Add milk ½ tbsp at a time.
▪️ Form dough into a ball. Let rise 45–60 mins until doubled.
▪️ Roll dough into a 14x18" rectangle.
▪️ Spread filling, leaving ½" border.
▪️ Cut into twelve strips and roll up.
▪️ Place rolls in a pan. Let rise 45–60 mins.
▪️ Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
▪️ Bake for 20–25 mins until golden.
▪️ Cool slightly before icing.
▪️ For glaze: mix butter + cream cheese, then sugar + cream.
▪️ Spread on warm rolls. Top with more Oreo crumbs. Enjoy!
