One of the best ways to feel confident in your next IEP meeting is to request a draft of the IEP ahead of time.

Email the case manager or special education teacher a few days before the meeting and ask for a copy to review. Having a draft lets you read through goals, services, and supports at your own pace so you can spot any errors or missing information before you're at the meeting table. This preparation means you'll walk in ready with questions, feedback, or changes, making the whole process smoother for everyone.
