By request of commenters, the complete schematic. Part list too -
No pickups! No Peizos. The guitar string is the armature of a generator. Then it's off to the high gain stages.
Then there is that $31,000 phono preamp to talk about. Can it be thoroughly beaten? Preamps have never been a weakness in the first place. But if you really want to do it pro, then why not go right into a pro transformer. Two for stereo. Either that or use a circuit that can gain advantage from impedance matching. I checked, and I found one with the Triad 3379. Only a few ever used them, and they were very good, no doubt. The Marantz did not. They all used common cathode at the input, although common grid would have been possible. Cathode followers were used on the fanciest at the output. Current "designers" are just using the available chip of the week.

Remember to make two different types, inverting and non-inverting, by exchanging leads on one side, either side, of the transformer. The pairs will cancel hum.
13 ohm emitter resistor
100k ohm load resistor
20 Megohm bias resistor
transformer (I used 1k ohm to 14 ohm miniature audio output)
1uf output coupling capacitor
20uf input coupling capacitor (this would be bigger than I used)
All the magnets in the house
Mix well using 100k summing resistors

Iron can be used to shape a magnetic field, and there is no predicting what bolt or bottle opener might make the sound right. Magnet placement is done with the amplifier on.
