Guitar Hero Aerosmith - Aerosmith - "Dream On": Expert 100% FC (RPCS3)

Like I said, I had another FC in the wings and finally it's one of the titular band Aerosmith...yeah woo-hoo. If you can't tell I'm not a huge fan of Aerosmith as a whole, though I like around 8 or so of their songs. This thankfully is one of the good songs from Aerosmith and it's a classic. But before we get into that, I have a few things to mention. Mainly..the chart itself is really simple, I got this first try of recording so that was nice, I knew it was a really basic chart (Massively overtiered tbh) so I figured It'd be an easy FC and I wasn't wrong. There isn't much to talk about charting wise or really Star Power pathing wise either, it's a rather boring chart. One of the songs that's great to listen to but not really play as it makes you sleepy.

What is worth mentioning though is THAT FUCKING JOE PERRY/AEROSMITH HIGHWAY. Yeah I imagine those of you in the know were waiting on me to tear this apart as it's one of the most infamous things about this game and one of the reasons people cite as the game being underwhelming. This highway is complete shit for a multitude of reasons, for starters it's just far too busy looking as there is too much shit on the highway and due to the colors it pops out more than say Judy's highway or anyone else's. Another problem with the highway is that because of it's color choices, notes will seamlessly blend into the highway making it insanely difficult to sight read notes and it causes you to miss some notes or maybe mistake a single note for a chord simply because it's hard to register notes when you have a highway this busy. Whoever designed this needed to be fired and never work on another game again, the highway has caused grief to many and I know a fair few people who are unable to achieve a full game FC on this game due to this highway as they cannot sight read it, and I don't blame them. Awful awful decision and sadly since Aerosmith is 70% of this game, you can't avoid it.

So yeah all that said, the song itself is a classic and dare I say among Aerosmith's best alongside the South Of Sanity live version of Last Child, Train Kept A Rollin' and (Dude) Looks Like A Lady. This is a well known and a banger and I love it's slow build up and for once I feel Steven Tyler's vocals and annoying screaming actually work well for this track. Though those of you who are knowledgable will no doubt (ha) notice that this version of the song is different from the original 1973 version from their debut album. That's because when making this game, a lot of the masters for Aerosmith songs were lost and thus couldn't be used for the game to make charts, so Aerosmith re-recorded a decent amount of their catalog in 2007 for this game. This song was one such song and was also released as a single DLC song for Guitar Hero III as well. I personally think this 2007 re-recording is honestly better than the original 1973 version as it has more emotion and obviously sounds better due to better technology. Honestly love this song, if only more Aerosmith songs were this good.

So yeah again, RPCS3 here so not real hardware thus this is not a competitive score and I don't claim it to be legal in any setting of the sort (Though again my scores aren't good enough anyway lol). Also yeah it's GH Aerosmith so it's 30 FPS animations on stage due to the PS3 port being terrible and also only 720p because this game misbehaves when upscaled. So yeah that's that, idk if I'll get more FC's in this game or not but I would like to and I will perhaps try. So keep an eye out I suppose, this gal here loves her Guitar Hero so, always expect more GH content.
