Devotion - A TF2 Demoman Jump Movie

Описание к видео Devotion - A TF2 Demoman Jump Movie

After 2 years in development, hopefully it would have been worth the wait.

So, I finally managed to complete this huge project and here it is! I have started working on it soon after my last upload with no prior After Effects knowledge as a challenge to learn better editing. I had a few demo jump clips lying around so I grinded for about 2 month to record the rest and began putting it together. Looked pretty miserable at first, but about a year later when I was at 6:44 I started liking it and when I finished it I decided to go back and remake almost every transition prior to that. I spent the last 6 days fixing every minor imperfection I could (apart from some sfm bugs) and I am very happy with how it turned out. Here's all the awesome people who helped me along the way and hopefully I didn't forget anyone:

Scratch: Countless advice on design and colors, told me a lot about sfm. Also he made sprites for the cloud scene and made created the thumbnail.
MOCOLONI: Gave me initial knowledge on uncompressed recording and gave a lot of advice and help on working with maps in hammer and sfm.
umfc: Occasional help with sfm and transition ideas.
Krasimer_101 *butter*: Gave me a bunch of helpful console commands for bots and explosive pumpkins, also found out how to remove unremovable explosion marks from demo files.
X_mezo_X: Proofwatched this to make sure there are no broken frames, which I had lots of trouble with, so if you notice any broken frames blame him.
FICO: Answered a few of my questions about Media Encoder and Premiere.
Last but not least I wanna thank TF2RJweekly for posting this on their channel which is very epic!
You can also watch it on their channel:    • Devotion - A TF2 Jump Movie
(I was originally going to make it different or separated into 3 smaller vids for my channel, but decided it would be too much work, so the video is the same)

Random stats:
This project takes up 450+ Gb on my pc.
Judging by amount of After Effects autosaves, this took 350 hours in there, and if I had to guess for sfm and hammer - 300 and 40 respectively.
I got a new PC in the middle of making it, the render took ~12 hours on the old one, ~6 hours on the new one and ~3.5 hours with a bunch of uncompressed pre-renders I made to avoid rendering crazy glitches.

Music:
Letting Up Despite Great Faults - Devotion
Kubbi - Firelight
Anamanaguchi - Densmore

Next I'm gonna post a few random videos maybe, possibly a Castle Crashers NG+ speedrun (I got spontaneously addicted to that 11yo game) or maybe a large editing guide if anyone is interested in that. Knowing my slowness, it will take a while for me to make the next TF2 video, but when I do it'll be about exploits or some broken mechanics again. I can't believe you've read all this text! Thanks for watching and I hope it doesn't take me another 2 years to make something cool.
