Spicy street food MALATANG

What was once a humble street food courtyard is now an unmissable destination in northwest China's Tianshui city, drawing thousands of tourists each day.

People are here for the local spicy broth, known as malatang – a street food that's pretty common in China.

As of March 18, Tianshui's malatang-related posts have attracted 2 billion views on social media platforms, boosting jobs, tourism and regional pride in the city.
