First recorded mandora-music is looking for publisher partner

A unique 18th century repertoire for the mandora is looking for a CD publishing partner.
The mandora is a lute-shaped plucked instrument. It was a contemporary of the baroque lute during the 18th century and played an important role in the second half of the century as a plucked instrument before the appearance of the classical guitar.
Despite musicology research of the past few decades, the majority of the repertoire of this magnificent instrument still has not been uncovered and played.
The repertoire of this CD has previously not been recorded. It contains a brilliant sonata by Anton Brescianello and suites from two unpublished anonymous manuscripts from Bratislava and Budapest.
The CD is played on a period instrument made by the excellent luthier Jacob Lundberg (Portland, 1987).
After obtaining his masters degree in classical guitar, Gabor Tokodi specialised in early music interpretation on the lute and baroque guitar in Frankfurt am Main in the lute class of Yasunori Imamura. As both a soloist and an ensemble player, he has appeared on numerous European concert stages.
The aim of his new project with the mandora is to bring back to prominence this unjustly forgotten instrument.
