[Finding Faith in Silence 침묵과 믿음사이]
In moments of deep suffering, we often cry out to God for help, yet His answers sometimes seem elusive. The story of Job is a profound example of this. Faced with the devastating loss of his children, financial ruin, and severe illness, Job found himself at the brink of despair. Despite his overwhelming grief, he never abandoned his faith. Day after day, he lamented, asking God, "Why have you done this to me? Why is life given to one whose way is hidden, whom God has hedged in?" (Job 3:23). It felt as if God had locked him in turmoil and thrown away the key. 1)
When I reflect on my own regrets—things I have done foolishly, selfishly, or even sinfully—I experience deep remorse. Yet, I realize that if I were to relive those moments, I might repeat the same mistakes due to the limitations of my character and circumstances. These barriers often seem insurmountable.
Jesus too faced a moment of anguish in the Garden of Gethsemane, praying, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me..." (Matt. 26:39). God did not take away the cross, a path fraught with terror and sacrifice.
In John 1:4-5, we read, "In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it." Through Jesus, we find our path to God even amidst severe trials and seemingly insurmountable obstacles. These difficult circumstances are not the endpoint. Rather, God has given us Jesus, the light and life, assuring us that we are on the right path toward Him, even when the way seems fraught with despair.
I continue to seek God, affirming that I walk the path illuminated by Jesus, the light and life of men. Despite feeling confined by my own imperfections and challenging circumstances, I hold onto the promise that these trials are not the final chapter. Instead, through Jesus, I see my journey leading me closer to God, with steadfast faith that endures until the very end.

Prayer
Heavenly Father, we believe we are on the right path in our lives. Grant us the acknowledgment of overcoming our troubles and suffering, just as Jesus endured the cross. Provide us with Your word when we struggle in this world. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
