Was in the mood to, uh, update one of the more famous songs ever performed by one of Greece's greatest singers, Stelios Kazantzidis. The initial idea came after a greek Metal guitarist, Bob Katsionis, encouraged people on Facebook to take greek hits and turn them into metal riffs, about two months ago. #greeksouksemetal ftw :D
Took quite a few creative liberties. For starters, I totally didn't omit the original intro by oversight (yes, I completely forgot it). Drums are MIDI going through Steven Slate Drums 5, inspired by the original drum patterns - hence the change between triplet and straight feel throughout the song. The guitars are based on the original bouzouki tracks and vocal lines, interchangeably. Sorry, no singing, this is a strictly instrumental arrangement. The bass came spontaneously while recording yesterday, as I haven't really paid attention to the original bass lines... On the other hand, I found it fitting to play as low as possible, because you know... Metal :D
Slight derp on the right guitar at around 1:34, in the harmonising part - just thought I'd mention it O:)
Video and audio were recorded simultaneously. Syncing the video footage to the final audio render in DaVinci Resolve was a bitch...
If you're wondering, agriolouloudo is greek for wild flower. The lyrics to the original song are somewhat of an allegory.
