1. Natal horoscope indicates the position of planets at the time of birth. The constant movement
of planets in their respective orbits continues, and in this process, when transiting planets
Transit over sensitive areas of the horoscope they help makes occurrence of specific events
promised in the life of the native.
2. Transit of planets in effect work as a catalytic effect to help manifest good or bad events
promised in the chart.
3. Giving results is part of a deep embedded process of Dasha with transiting planets. Transiting
planets are believed to give Dashas a triggering effect. and that way both produce sequence of
events.
4. Only those shall translate to such sequence of events, that should be present, either as a
promise or denial as part of the native’s horoscope.
5. What happens in an individual's life at an appropriate moment of Dasha need to be
considered carefully by the planet’s in dasha, along with its transit at that time or the transit of
the Bhav lord where such dasha ruler is posited.
6. Classically, the transit of planets in different houses is considered from the position of Moon
in the Natal chart. The sign occupied by Moon in the native chart is known as the Janam Rashi
of the native.
7. Different planets are said to produce different results when they transit the various houses
considering the Janam Rashi as the lagna, that is why in North India Astrologers make a
separate Chandra Kundli or lunar chart placing the moon sign on the lagna. This is used as an
alternate ascendant as well as, a tool for understanding the Gochariya effects of planets.
8. It may, however, be pointed out that transit is also considered by modern astrologers from
Ascendant, but in my personal opinion faster moving Planets, Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus
and Mars’ transit should be seen from Ascendant but transit of slower moving planets should
be considered from Natal Moon.
9. Actual effect of transiting planet shall be a sum total of as it appears through Natal chart and
Navmansha Lagna.
10. Different planets produce benefic or malefic results in a proscribed format as understood by
seers of subject of astrology, never erratically, when they transit various houses considered
from the house occupied by the natal moon.
