Highlights of Sergey “Krusher” Kovalev’s dominant unanimous decision victory against “The Alien” or “The Executioner” Bernard Hopkins on November 8th 2014. Kovalev puts on an unbelievably dominant performance against the legendary immortal Hopkins by hitting him from pillar to post throughout the 12 round fight.

This was Kovalev’s 4th defense of his WBO Light Heavyweight title which he won after knocking out Nathan Cleverly in 2013. Kovalev enjoyed three straight victories against Cedric Agnew, Blake Caparello, and Ismayl Sillah. While Hopkins was also victorious in his last three bouts going into this bout with decisions over Karo Murat, Tavoris Cloud and Beibut Shumenov.

Hopkins’ WBA and IBF Light Heavyweight titles were on the line, and Kovalev’s victory made him the Unified Light Heavyweight Champion. Kovalev have since enjoyed three straight victories all by way of knockout, notably two wins against Jean Pascal. Kovalev will be taking on Isaac Chilemba in about 14 days as a warm up fight before his highly anticipated showdown against the undefeated former Lineal, Ring Magazine, WBA and WBC Super Middleweight champion Andre Ward this November.

Both Kovalev and Ward are unbeaten with records of 29-0-1 an 29-0 respectively. It will be an ultimate battle of power vs skill. This victory by Kovalev is widely considered to be his best performance to date as Hopkins has never been dominated so thoroughly in his long career.
