First steps on the Sho-Bud Maverick

Had this pedal steel up and running for a few weeks now so I figured it was time to post something with it. This feels like watching a baby deer take its first few wobbly steps after being born. 🤣 But I wanted to be able to track my progress a little bit as I go, and I figured a few of you might enjoy watching the journey as well. Still working out the volume pedal thing along with the benders, and just remembering what notes I’m aiming for.

Shoutout to my man Dave Jackson for getting me sorted on this thing. A friend of mine literally found this in a dumpster last year and Dave helped restore it to its original glory (and then some). He has nearly endless knowledge when it comes to steel guitars and their history, and I wouldn’t even be remotely interested in the instrument if it weren’t for hearing him play it like he does.

Now if you’ll excuse me I’ve got a lot of work to do. 😅🤣
