Lost WWII submarine found after almost 80 years brings closure to Monck's Corner community

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCIV) — Memorial Day is a time for remembering those who died while serving their country.

Now, thanks to a discovery thousands of miles away, a Monck's Corner man, lost during World War II, can finally bring closure to an American Legion Post.

"I thought it was a lost cause," says Reggie Mitchell, a Navy veteran and second cousin to Thomas Daggett Ogilvie.
