The tripwire is the next page of an opt-in or landing page. It’s used to sell something of the low ticket. Tripwires are usually under $50. if you try to sell something of a high ticket on the second page of an opt-in, it rarely converts because the price is so high, and most often times the person who is opting in is cold traffic. High-ticket items convert really well to your warm and hot market. The purpose of the tripwire is to make a few dollars in profit that you normally wouldn’t get if you sold the high ticket immediately. More people can afford something under $50, but not everyone can afford something in the thousand-dollar price range. The tripwire enables you to make some profit that can go towards your ad spend. The tripwire can trigger a series of upsells to come along the sales funnel as the person only has to put their credit card in once to purchase the remaining offers within the funnel. Tripwires are very good for recouping some money that was spent on creating the campaign.
