Lake Monteynard is a scenic reservoir located in the French Alps. The lake was created in the 1960s as part of a hydroelectric project on the Drac River. It spans an area of approximately 10 square kilometers and has a maximum depth of around 115 meters. The dam that formed the lake is called the Monteynard Dam.

We were about 7 peoples started trekking from Monteynard ville. It was an amazing trail in the forest. During this trail we have discovered a route which wasn't available in the internet. After 3.5 hours of trekking we had reached the Lake point.

Swimming is allowed in Lake Monteynard, and many visitors enjoy taking a refreshing dip in its waters, especially during the summer months. The lake's clean and clear waters make it an appealing spot for swimming and water activities. However, it's important to note that Lake Monteynard is a mountain reservoir, and the water can be quite cold, even in the summer. So, it's advisable to check the current water temperature before swimming and be prepared for cooler temperatures.
