Dr. Kimberly Engels interviews Matthew Roberts, former US Naval cryptologist and author of Initiated. Together they discuss Roberts' strange experiences with the phenomenon following his station on the USS Theodore Roosevelt during the infamous Gimball incident.

Using Husserl's concepts intentionality and Sartre's concept of existential rupture, they analyze the variety of anomalous occurrences and profound value and worldview changes that unfolded in the aftermath of his experience with UAP.

Kimberly S. Engels is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Molloy University and past president of the North American Sartre Society. She received her PhD from Marquette University, where she first studied phenomenology. Her UAP research interests lie in the lived conscious experience of individuals who report UAP encounters.
