Another Weekend at a Racecourse, will it be a win for us...#wetherby

We spend the Valentine weekend at Wetherby Racecourse again with the MCC.

Wetherby Racecourse is a racecourse situated near the market town of Wetherby in West Yorkshire. For most of its history the course has hosted only National Hunt racing but staged its first Flat racing fixture on 26 April 2015.

On Saturday we take a 1/2 hour walk into Wetherby which has 21 Blue Plaques adorning its buildings and landmarks, each a testament to the town's rich tapestry of history. The trail is approx. 1.5 miles. Wetherby has a history dating back to the 12th century. The town's history is marked by the Knights Templar, raids by the Scots, the English Civil War, and the coaching era. Also was mentioned in the Domesday Book in 1086 as "Wedrebi", which means "settlement on the bend of a river"
