Citroen have always been bold when it comes to design and this 2017 model of C4 Cactus certainly looks completely different from most family hatchbacks. It sits higher than a regular car and looks SUV-like with its wheel arch extensions and roof-rails. Along the flanks you have Citroens air-pads which defend this car against unwanted knocks and scrapes in the urban jungle. This add to the ruggedness of this cars looks - It is a very good-looking crossover and a refreshing change to the norm, which I personally embrace.

Our car is in sought after Flair trim, which is one of the higher spec models, incorporating such luxuries as sat-nav, Bluetooth audio streaming, a truly brilliant reversing camera and diamond-cut alloy wheels. These cars are easy to drive and maneuver thanks to their relatively compact dimensions and excellent visibility. The Cactus is in superb condition both inside and out with well-presented white coachwork and a clean and well-presented cloth interior which is bursting with features. You will also be pleased to know that it drives without fault and has clearly been very well looked after by the previous owner. Everything works as it should including the air-conditioning which blows ice cold. The large touchscreen which houses a majority of this cars features is easy to use and has a very clear display. It also makes the cars interior seem very modern and uncluttered - Despite not being an overly expensive car it feels premium.

I prefer the look of these early Cactus models as they look more purposeful than the 2018- cars which have a more mainstream look. The specification and finish of this cars interior is guaranteed to impress. In my opinion these cars do exactly what you want from a compact family crossover and thanks to the high roofline there is a spacious feel to the accommodating interior. The other pay-off from this cars height is superb all-round visibility and excellent driving dynamics. One of the other massive payoffs from this car is that it's in the sweet spot of having been registered in March 2017, a month before the re-wrote the rules on car tax - so this car costs just £20 a year to tax! (Had it been registered a month later the tax would be a whopping £210 a year!!!!

Despite having covered 108k miles from new, our 2017 car does not show any sign of adverse wear which is testament to this cars quality - It feels as though it has been built to last.

In short, the Cactus is an impressive car which looks like a concept car for the road and has a majority of the benefits of a larger SUV, and a modern family hatchback all rolled into one, high quality package. This is a very easy car to drive, and the comfortable seats are fully adjustable making it the perfect place to relax. It is comfortable enough to transport a small family long distances with ease, being a full 5 seater. The side opening tailgate opens wide to reveal a generous 310 litre luggage capacity, with split folding rear seats offering the opportunity to further expend the luggage space.
