The British Election Study: Understanding British Democracy was funded by the School of Social Sciences at The University of Manchester.

With the help of some of Britain’s top academics and journalists in politics, the film looks at how the British Election Study, one of the world’s oldest studies of electoral behaviour, can throw more light on some of the major issues facing British democracy today.

The British Election Study has made a major contribution to the understanding of political attitudes and behaviour since 1964, providing data to researchers who are interested in the changing patterns of party support and election outcomes.

The British Election Study 2015 is managed by The University of Manchester, The University of Oxford and The University of Nottingham. It is funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC).
