Curd Rice (Dahi Chawal) is a south Indian dish made with pre-cooked rice, curd and a few spices.
Ingredients:
1 small cup curd
Urad dal
Green chillies
Salt
Curry leaves
Chopped coriander
Hing (asafetida)
Mustard seeds
2 cups of boiled rice

Procedure:
Beat the curd making sure there are no lumps and keep it aside.
In a pan heat 2 tablespoon oil, add mustard seeds.
Add urad dal once mustard starts spluttering and cook it till it turns slightly brownish. Stir continuously.
Add hing, curry leaves, green chillies; saute it for a few seconds. Turn off the heat.
Add salt in curd and mix well.
Mix the rice and curd. If u feel the curd it too thick, add milk so that the rice and curd blend well.
Now, mix the curd and rice with the sauteed spices.
Finally, sprinkle chopped coriander and serve it with achar(pickle).
