Dr. Ning Xiaohong graduated from Peking Union Medical College in China in 1998 and obtained her doctoral degree. She currently serves as the Director of the Palliative Medicine Center and Chief Physician in the Department of Geriatrics at Peking Union Medical College Hospital. Previously, she held the position of Deputy Chief Physician in the Department of Oncology. Dr. Ning has pursued further studies abroad in the United Kingdom and Taiwan, including a course in palliative care at Cardiff University in the UK. Since 2014, she has been responsible for the "Palliative Medicine" course at Peking Union Medical College. Additionally, she holds various leadership roles, such as being the Chinese Executive Chair of the LWPA Sino-British Joint Training and serving as a guiding teacher for the Peking Union Medical College Hospice Volunteer Team. Dr. Ning has been honored with several awards, including being named a "Charming Figure of China" in 2016 and receiving the "Upholding Life, Honoring Physicians, Humanistic Care Award" from the Global Times in 2017.
