Day 2 commenced with the official opening of the AWE initiative by the United States Consulate.

Ibrahim Aliyu of the U.S. Consulate welcomed guests and participants and introduced the program Partner, Inya Lawal who commenced the day with her speech highlighting the vision of AWE and expectations from the participants.

In her words “Through AWE, Women in Africa, the Caribbean, and Latin America will have new opportunities to explore the fundamentals of business and learn new skills, including creating business plans and raising capital with the goal of building a better future for their families and communities”

The Consul General, Claire Pierangelo gave a speech affirming her commitment to supporting women entrepreneurs in Nigeria.
