Hey guys and welcome back to ChriswithaC RC! Lately on the channel it’s been all about RC racing, practice nights, learning curves, and building momentum, and today is the day it all leads up to. This is a BIG RC race day at Cobra Cardiff, and honestly, it turned out to be something really special.

When I decided to jump back into 1/10th scale electric buggy racing, the plan was never to do it alone. The goal was always to drag my mates along, put our skills to the test, and see if I could get them hooked on club-level RC racing just like I was. After picking up my Team Associated RC10B7, it didn’t take much persuasion to convince the lads to do the same. Shared passion, plenty of laughs, and a love for all things RC is what keeps this group tight.

Today we’re heading to Cobra Cardiff at the House of Sport, home of the Cardiff Off-Road Buggy Racing Association, for a full day of racing and testing. Joining me are Robbie (Tenby RC), Grum RC, Gareth Manning (Pantside RC), Martyn (Pantside RC), Craig Carpenter, and Justin Rut Rider. Early start, doors open at 8am, batteries charged, nerves kicking in.

Cobra Cardiff is run by Matt Hodges RC and Paul “Beryl & Bruce” Curtis, who have been building this club for over 20 years. This is a fully BRCA-endorsed RC racing club, hosting regional, Welsh, and national championship rounds, and it was genuinely amazing to see how strong and welcoming the RC racing community still is here all these years later. This was my club back in the day, so coming back felt full circle.

This was the moment to see if the old dog still had it, and I was absolutely blown away by how the guys I usually bash with stepped up to proper racing. Rain or shine, places like this prove that RC racing in the UK is alive, thriving, and full of great people.
