A Command & Conquer clone that was much less successful than it deserved, Z is as notable for being the only real-time strategy game from action game masters at Bitmap Brothers as being a very innovative title. Options:


1- Zod Engine (fastest and easiest). Consider donating 😉. Best controls and overall UI (ie. You can select the production line from a small menu upon clicking the factory). You can even test your might with 3 more enemies

a- Download the program
b- Unzip and install
c- Execute the file, after selecting “is windowed” and “Local game” options (works better for me)
d- Select the level and adjust the speed of the game with in game options
e- AI is as far I have experienced, AI is more difficult


2- DosBox (no sound)
Note that I could adjust the sound and the sound effects, but as soon as you do that there is “mane.lbm” file missing. Could not pass that, unfortunately.

a- You will have to download both components
b- Unzip them
c- Execute the Emulator DOSBOX
d- Follow the instructions and mount the directory where you place the game, by writing “mount c c:\(add here the directory where the game is located)”
e- Access the mounted directory by writing “c:”
f- Execute the “Z” file
