📢 YOUR RIGHT TO CHOOSE (RTC) – ADHD (and Autism!) ASSESSMENTS
Did you know you can use Right to Choose to access an ADHD assessment through an NHS-approved provider?

Here’s what you need to know:

✅ You’re entitled to choose an NHS-commissioned provider for your ADHD assessment under the NHS Constitution.
✅ It’s free — the NHS pays for the assessment, not you.
✅ Shorter wait times with many RTC providers.
✅ Your GP must make the referral once you request RTC in writing.
✅ You don’t need to explain yourself — RTC is your legal right.

⚠️ IMPORTANT — SHARED CARE WARNING
Before you go ahead with RTC, you must speak to your GP and confirm in writing whether they will take on shared care if you are prescribed ADHD medication.
👉 GPs are NOT legally required to enter into a shared-care agreement.
👉 If your GP refuses, you may not be able to receive ongoing NHS prescriptions, even after diagnosis.
👉 Always check before you choose your provider.
