Denying his path of finding a successor and becoming a spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace, Po will find himself in a terrible situation when a sly fox named Zhen informs him of a sorcerer known as The Chameleon.

Kung Fu Panda was sadly a major disappointment for three reasons. 1. It's rushed story. 2. A false protagonist. And lastly, 3. a badly written antagonist.

This story wasn't filled with subtext or creative forms of storytelling like the previous movies. Which was a very big let down because of how well executed the other movies are (With some negative things in the third one). I felt it was due to its rushed intent, but I could be wrong.

Because of this, it also feels like Po isn't the true protagonist. Instead, it shifts onto the new character Zhen. And, while that isn't bad, the execution of it was bad.

Which brings me to The Chameleon. She was a wasted character that untimely did nothing. We don't delve deeper into her backstory besides the info dump she says verbally. Which is a real shame. We don't understand her character. But worst of all, she isn't as threatening as the previous villains. All she does is push people down the stairs... wow.

In the end, Kung Fu Panda 4 suffered in these three aspects because there wasn't much foundation for the movie to firmly stand.
