Elul, The King Is in The Field. Elul in Hebrew is an acronym of:
I am my beloved and My Beloved is mine.
Elul is the sixth month. The number 6 is connected with the Hebrew letter VaV a picture of a tent peg. He, the King would come down from His Palace and pitch his tent among his people. This is a type and shadow of exactly what Jesus did. He left His heavenly throne and pitched His tent (to dwell) among his people. John 1:14 and John 3:16, Our Abba sent His Son as a King to tabernacle, live with us. Whoever believes on Him will not perish but have eternal life. All because of His great love for us.
This prophetic month is showing us God’s gift to us, Jesus the only begotten. Through Jesus the King of Kings comes to our field, the field of our heart. He puts his tent pegs down deep into our heart and seals us with His signet ring, the Holy Spirit. So, He’s just not a king in our hearts in Elul but He is a king in our heart forever. Colossians 1:13-14, 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and [c]conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption [d]through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
The King is in our fields of family, home, and work, influence, dreams, and even our battlefields. He wants to come in and live with us and spend time with us.
How would we live differently if we knew King Jesus was living with us the next 40 days?
Elul begins the next 40 days of a time called Teshuvah/Repentance. Return to your first love. Find your place in the family of God. The next 40 days leading to Yom Kippur is a time of blowing the Shafar which is a time of calling like an alarm clock the king is here and it is time to repent and reading Psalm 27.
The month of Elul is associated with the left hand. A call to Action to fix what is broken. Broken relationships, dreams, and mindsets. The king who is in our field will guide us what needs fixing, needing, gardening and even leaving grain on the corners of the field so those who are pour in spirit can find food. The forty days of Teshuvah lead us into the new year of 5783 which the new year at Rosh Hashanah which is September 26th in the Western Calendar.
The tribe is Gad, the seventh son of Jacob. His name means, “Good Fortune.” Genesis 49:14, When Gad went into the promise land they chose to settle on the east side of the Jordan River which made them the closest to the enemies of Israel. But by doing so they were taught to have preparedness for an attach at any time. They were always ready to do battle. So Elul is the month that we know our place in the company of the Lord, not as mercenaries but as triumphant warriors. Mt. 11:12, the kingdom of God suffers violence and the violent take it by force.
The month of Elul is to discover not only is God our Heavenly King but is also our Heavenly Bridegroom. Intimacy, approachable, and accessible. It is known as the “wedding month.” I am my beloved and my Beloved is mine. Solomon 6:3
So, Elul is the month where God is inviting us into His Chuppah which means wedding tent so we can spend time with him.
The Constellation of Elul is Virgo, is a picture of a virgin and highlights young Mary and her faith. She conceived and brought forth Messiah from God’s seed as was prophesied in Genesis 3:15. Elul is the month to say like Mary, “be unto me according to your word.”
Elul is found in Exodus 34, where God extends mercy toward Israel after the sin of the golden calf. God calls Moses back up to the Mountain 40 days of favor. It ends on Yom Kippur. This is on our calendar, August 26- through October 4, 2022.
1.God extended terms of renewal
2.Gave Moses the second tablets of Covenant
3.And responded to Moses request to see His Glory.
Then Moses responds to God by bowing down in humility. This is the picture of the Hebrew letter that corresponds with this month “Yod”. This letter depicts a man bowing down to his King in Humility and Repentance and receives mercy from the hand of God.
