Zihua our "Powerful Woman"

"Zihua" which means "powerful woman" in the native tongue of the ancestors of Zihuatanejo, Mexico, was what we named this dog when we found her almost dead from distemper. Against all odds, the volunteers of Surfers for Strays stood by her side, when she couldn't stand herself. This video proves, that anything is possible if you love enough.

This footage was collected since 2017. Zihua is a dog that continues to represent our program and mission here at Surfers for Strays and we are so excited to finally share her story. Since 2019 she has been living happily with Wax in Saladita!
