Revotruck a revolutionary new earthmoving machine from Mecalac, at Bauma, powered by Perkins Engines

The new Revotruck was one of the highlights of Bauma, and it’s set to transform the view of the traditional site dumper in lots of different ways.

And ‘VIEW’ is the word as this machine which is already going into production and arriving onsite in 2023, has been completely redesigned from the ground up, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

The cab is all about the view it gives operators to the job site above ground and into the trench with an almost floor to ceiling window section in a 270 degree rotating cab design.

This is so important when it comes to site safety, as almost one third of transport accidents on construction sites occur on dumpers.

As product expert Quentin Bayle explained, its overall design is also aimed at tackling the other safety issue associated with Dumpers, that is, machines tipping over:

“We called it Revotruck as it’s not designed as a typical site dumper. We have been able to lower the centre of gravity with the rotating cab, and what’s really unique about the truck is that it has a rigid chassis with an oscillation at the centre.

“This allows the operator to benefit from four wheel steer functionality that reduces the turning radius by 50% compared to a normal site dumper. This alone will save a lot of fuel, and thanks to the Stage V engine from Perkins, we will be able to increase fuel efficiency and productivity.”

It certainly is a very impressive looking machine and one which will undoubtedly deliver a safer and more efficient site, especially as all servicing can be done from ground level.
