Montol Penzance 2015 - God Rest Ye Merry, Wicker Men by GurdyBird

Contains flash photography. A glimpse of a tiny amount of massive and bonkers shenanigans of Montol, the midwinter festival of misrule held in Penzance. There was so much going on we couldn't capture it all but here's some of what was captured!

Starting off with the night before-Notice Night where we took notices around to the pubs that the guilds would be visiting as a reminder of the misrule that was about to happen the next day and night. Guise is a traditional part of Cornish festivities, here is Mock formal and the guilds have elements of their guild's theme worked into their costumes.

The Guilds are:
The Ancient Company of the Corn Market
The Splendid League of Physicians
The Glorious Company of the Egyptian House
The Melodious Company of the Peccadilloes
