Amtrak 21 leaving St. Louis on schedule SB with the FRA car up front & on the Desoto sub at Shaw Ave

From March 22nd, 2024. Here’s my follow up and last video I took on this chilly and breezy Friday evening of Amtrak 21 the southbound Texas eagle from Chicago on the oak hill branch part of the Union Pacific Desoto sub as it was leaving out of St. Louis on time and not long after 7:55 pm for San Antonio. My buddy Scott Nauert was also here with me for it at Shaw Avenue near I-44 and he can be seen to the left of the screen basically near the end of the video. Amtrak 21 here still has the same P42 genesis locomotive #56 leading, then the beautiful Pennsylvania railroad style colored FRA “office of safety” car DOTX 221 up front, but now only 4 superliners trailing it instead of 5 as the last car a superliner coach was taken off the train in St. Louis for Amtrak 22 the northbound Texas eagle to take back to Chicago tomorrow morning. Scott Nauert and I love doing stuff together once in a while and we both always love catching rare treats on any type of Amtrak long distance or short distance trains around here and over in Illinois too. After this it was time for me to head or I mean drive back west on the interstate to Kirkwood Amtrak station for the arrival of the tardy Amtrak eastbound train 316 from Kansas City to St. Louis on the Jeff city sub and to meet up and hang out with a few of my other mutual train watching friends there too.
