'The Changing Of The Seasons' is track seven, and the title track, from my debut solo album, The Changing Of The Seasons... Track 2 on side 2 of the LP...

I'm posting the whole album up here in bitesize chunks... This is the first excerpt from this song...an instrumental intro with a Hohner alto melodic taking the melody, over flutes & clarinets from Maree Choie (who also contributes vocals later in the track)...

A song that grew out of observing the changes in the world around me on my daily walks. Learning the cycles of the blossoms on the various trees that I would go past… And then relating that to changes in human relationships as they played out around me…

It’s partly about coming to terms with things the way that they really are…

Musically I was feeling in almost a sort of John Hartford, bluegrass-inflected mood, but coloured with some Brazilian influence…
