Elden Ring - Malenia vs RL1 Grafted Blade Greatsword

Another video where I did the math!

The Grafted Blade Requires 40 STR to wield one handed, but only needs 30 to two hand.

A base RL1 Wretch character has 10 STR. By adding Starscourge Heirloom (+5), Radagon’s Soreseal (+5) and Godricks Great Rune (+5) I could get my STR up to 25.

So still not enough to even use the weapon. But by drinking the physic with the Strength-Knot Crystal Tear, I could get an additional 10+ STR giving me 35 STR for 3 minutes. However, 3 minutes isn’t very long to beat Malenia, especially using a colossal sword. The work around for this was to drink the physic and then use Oath of Vengeance (+5 all stats for 60 seconds), then resting at the site of grace. Giving me 30STR for one minute. Once that minute was up during the battle, I’d drink the physick and have 3 minutes of either 35 or 40 STR if Oath of Vengeance was active.

What is really weird about Oath of Vengeance, is the buff does not stack! If it is currently active, and you use it, it does not reset the 1 minute timer! So I only had roughly 4-5 minutes total to take down Malenia. But it worked! And I even added in a couple of Guard Counters for the added difficulty!

All up a fun little challenge, however, I really think this swords potential was wasted on such a mediocre AoW, and it’s a real shame it can’t be changed as this thing looks fantastic!
