On June 4, 2025, the peaceful village of Kairang Heikrumakhong in Imphal East, Manipur, was turned into a scene of devastation after days of relentless rainfall. The sudden and severe flooding swept through the entire village, collapsing homes, washing away belongings, and leaving hundreds of people with nothing but the clothes they were wearing. Families have lost everything — from daily essentials to important documents, from food supplies to cherished memories. What once was a close-knit, quiet village is now submerged in heartbreak and uncertainty.

More than 200 villagers have taken refuge in temporary relief camps. For these families, the camps offer a fragile sense of safety — but they also serve as painful reminders of what has been lost. Children sit silently beside their mothers, elders stare into the distance, and young parents wonder how to rebuild from the ground up.

Yet, amid the devastation, there is hope. Volunteers from organizations like the CCian Group, Students for Seva, and Seva Bharti Manipur have stepped in with food, clothing, and emotional support. The Assam Rifles and local residents have been working tirelessly on rescue missions, proving once again that in our darkest moments, humanity shines brightest.

But the crisis is far from over. These families urgently need our help — not just to survive, but to begin again.
