I was 13 years old when I heard James Taylor's version of the Carole King song "You've Got a Friend" on the radio, it must have been his voice, the way he sang and the unique sound he emphasized with his delicate fingernail guitar playing on steel strings, that inspired me to learn to play the guitar.
And even after 50 years I'm still not tired of hearing his music.
