Skoolie Life: Getting My New Off-Grid Tiny Home

Life… it’s this beautiful thing that’s bestowed upon us and yet it’s easy to take for granted or waste it trying to live up to societal pressures to achieve “success”.

I’ve lived a great life, have been blessed with being a daughter to an exceptional family, a mother, a teammate, and a part of some very exciting business initiatives.

Yet, I’ve always felt a pull towards a simpler life. Being more conscience about my resources, how I use those, not being wasteful, and giving back to the Earth and my community. I’ve been a mother for almost 24 years. Raising my daughters is the most rewarding and successful experience I’ve ever had. I can confidently say they are strong independant woman who are thriving.

My life hasn’t been easy. I’ve struggled. I’ve faced severe tragedy, multiple times. I’ve doubted how I’d overcome it. Questioned whether or not I was enough. The beautiful thing about life is that you can always change, grow, and get better. You aren’t defined by your past or your mistakes. Having GRIT helped, the ability to persevere through challenge is key.

I spent the majority of my life falling in line with societal norms, chasing the American dream, and believing that happiness can be bought with money and the approval and adoration of others. I’ve given a lot of myself over the years, both personally and in business. I need a time out. The wild is calling to go and explore. I’m documenting my journey, not just so my family and friends can follow along, but also to inspire others. Life’s too short. Make sure you’re doing the thing that nourishes your mind, body, and soul.
