Aim of the Innovation: This Automatic Reeling and Spinning Machine is an important device (machine) for those engaged in sericulture and those working as weavers. As a significant number of rural women in Assam are engaged in the sericulture and weaving sector, therefore, this machine with special and unique features will expedite their work in less expensive manner. In this way, it will contribute towards women empowerment through self-employment.

Advantages of the Machine:

1.The Spinning Cum Reeling Machine will help in reeling and spinning of various types of Eri and silks in less time as compared to reeling and spinning machines available in the market.
These various types of silks and eri are-

(i). Muga Warp Yarn (Twisted )
(ii) Muga Weft Yarn (untwisted)
(iii)Eri and
(iv) Mulberry


2. The spinning machines available in market can spin 800 cocoons in eight (8) hours; however, this Automatic Reeling and Spinning Machine that I have innovated can spin 6000 to 7000 cocoons in eight (8) hours.

3. An amount of thread that requires one hour to be reeled manually, the same amount can be reeled in 2 to 3 minutes only through this Automatic Reeling and Spinning Machine.

4. This machine runs on (operates by) electricity or battery and it is rechargeable.

5. The bobbin of this Automatic Reeling and Spinning Machine will stop automatically as soon as the sinning/reeling work gets completed.

6. This Automatic Reeling and Spinning Machine is less expensive (affordable for rural women). The Spinning Machine available in the market is priced higher (around 55,000); however, the Automatic Reeling and Spinning Machine that I have innovated (invented) is less expensive (around 7000/-).
