At the heart of the Machilipatnam Greenfield Port project in Andhra Pradesh, MEIL's dedicated teams are employing this groundbreaking technique to transform the seascape. This remarkable process involves using a specialised machine called the Cutter Suction Dredger. It removes vast amounts of sand, sediment, and debris from the sea floor with precision and power, creating a clear path for progress.

Over one million cubic meters of sand have already been extracted – a testament to the dedication of the MEIL teams. But it's not just about clearing the way. By deepening the sea waters, we are paving the way for constructing the Machilipatnam Greenfield Port's 13-kilometer-long, 0.5-kilometer-wide, and 17-meter-deep approach channel.

Our journey doesn't end there. The South and North breakwater, monumental stone structures, are guardians of the port. With a staggering capacity of 9 lakh and 60 thousand metric tons, these breakwaters are more than just stone – they are symbols of resilience and progress.
