Many local and foreign tourists climb SooriyaKanda to see the beautiful side of the Morning side.

The TV and Itn transmission towers at the top of Sooriyakanda are off-limits to the general public, but the Rakwana viewing point as you ascend along the road, as well as the 10-lane road, offers a beautiful view of the ecosystem.

Route: If you are coming from Ratnapura or Badulla area for this purpose, when you come to Rakwana from Pelmadulla via Kahawatta and reach Rakwana to Sooriyakanda, there is a name board in the middle of a small tea estate on the right side of the road. From there it is a very dilapidated and difficult mountain road. If you are coming from Galle, Matara, come to Sooriyakanda via Deniyaya, there is a standard way to reach the southern part of Sooriyakanda, and you can reach this place by following that route.
