Have you ever felt that health is our greatest wealth, yet many often take it for granted? Clinical Trials, as we know it today, have made enormous progress in the world of drug discovery, research, and innovation, and have contributed to one of the biggest reasons as to why we have better treatments today than we did yesterday.

As a Clinical Research professional, Twinkle Bahaduri, highlights how diversity and inclusion impacts the way we deliver clinical trials.

She discusses how a lack of diversity in clinical trial conduct leads to disparities in treatment among populations, hence impeding clinical care quality and the discovery of more effective treatments or interventions.

She also explains why clinical trials with well-planned study designs should include people with a diverse range of lived experiences and living conditions, regardless of race and ethnicity, gender orientation, or even spoken language, because "Inclusion is the manifestation of Diversity."

Twinkle Bahaduri's TEDxKEW Talk emphasises the importance of why researchers should carefully consider their diversified and inclusive' approach to Clinical Trial Participation not only to benefit all communities with the same scientific advances, but also to benefit humanity and future scientific discoveries of our tomorrow. Twinkle is a Senior Clinical Research Associate with 10 years of experience in next-generation drug development and Clinical trials.
As a Clinical Research Professional and a former Medical Scientist, she has extensive experience managing Investigational Drug trials and Medical Device Clinical trials in the Asia Pacific Region across a broad spectrum of therapeutic areas in the Hospital, Academic, and Pharmaceutical industry sectors.
She holds double Master degrees in Infectious Diseases and an MBA, a BioMedical Science degree from University of Western Australia, and a Postgraduate certificate from Harvard Medical School. She is dedicated to transforming lives through the power of research and innovative medical interventions that provide hope to those who have lost hope. As an International Keynote Speaker, she now raises awareness of Clinical trials, with a message that successful drug development is only possible with successful Clinical trials, thus it is our responsibility. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
