The Atrium Prestige is a beautiful, peaceful, luxury beachside resort, just over an hour's drive from Rhodes airport. It really is a perfect place for a holiday.
Many seven night packages include a free return airport transfers. That's well worth choosing as I would guess the trip would cost easily €100 each way. Our driver was waiting for us with a sign and drove us in a comfortable mini-van.
Two-bedroom, Sea-View Family Suite
The bathroom was beautifully appointed, with plenty of quality toiletries and towels. There was both a bath and shower. I'd like more hooks to hang towels, bathrobes and swimwear.
I was slightly surprised to see that toilet paper shouldn't be flushed, as I thought that being so new, the plumbing would be capable - apparently the problem lies with the island's sewer system. It's so easy to forget and drop paper without thinking. There was no bidet.
The main bedroom had a comfortable king bed.
There was a large safe, mini-bar, fluffy bathrobes and slippers.
A bottle of wine, water and a fruit basket were left on the table.
The wi-fi was fast and reliable throughout the hotel, including the beach.
Ultra All-inclusive
If you have the ultra all-inclusive package, then pretty much everything is free. You can dine at the fine-dining restaurants, Asia and Thalassa, as much as you like as well as visit the other restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
There is an app that allows you to order drinks and food to be delivered your beach or pool sunbed and make restaurant reservations.
There are a choice of wines, all good quality and perfectly drinkable – included as part of all-inclusive, as is bottled water.
Good quality cocktails and top-shelf drinks are all included as part of ultra all-inclusive.
Access to the hydrotherapy pool and sauna in the spa is free for ultra all-inclusive guests.
The room mini-bar was complimentary and restocked each day.
I can't understand why anyone wouldn't choose to add ultra all-inclusive - drinks are expensive and it isn't as if there is a local restaurant within walking distance.
Aegean Main Restaurant
We sat on the outside terrace. Drinks are served at the table and there is also an al la carte menu. The staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for you.
The buffet was sumptuous, with plenty of delicious items to choose from.
Breakfast is also served in the main restaurant. The buffet extensive, plus an omelette station that also provided fried and poached eggs.
For lunch, we were happy to order food direct to our beach sunbeds. For dinner, we preferred the fine-dining restaurants; Asia and Thalassa or the Aegean Main Restaurant with a mix of buffet and à la carte menu.
Beach
The beach is private and has plenty of comfortable sun beds with beach umbrellas. The sand is a mix of small stones and sand. The entrance to the sea, quite rocky. This isn't a Caribbean beach, but the sea was clear and warm enough for swimming in October.
Towels are provided at the beach bar.
The hotel wi-fi works fine on the beach and that makes it easy to order a piña colada and some lunch from your sunbed.
Thalasso Spa
The spa pool is beautiful, the salt water really warm and there are plenty of thalasso therapy jets to play with.
Main Bar
The main bar sits on the floor above the main restaurant. There is a large open-air terrace and plenty of seats inside.
The bar is also the location for evening entertainment. Don't expect lavish shows, but the entertainment is mostly good quality.
Pools
The pools are stunning, with plenty of sunbeds from where you can order food and drinks. The water was colder than the sea in October and so we didn't use them.
There isn't any loud music blasting, or some animation team shouting over a loudspeaker. Don't expect any foam parties. It's just peaceful.
The pools are beautifully illuminated at night.
Check Out Experience
The hotel reception were friendly and were happy to arrange a late checkout until 2pm - we could also have lunch on the departure day.
The only odd episode was when we came to pay the bill and were asked if we'd like to add 10% tip for the hotel services. That's quite a substantial amount and something I've never been asked before - I declined to add the tip.
Bugs
There were no mosquitoes. I saw a wasp one time while having breakfast on the restaurant terrace. I didn't see a single cockroach. Our room terrace had non-biting ants. No spiders. Just a few small flies.
Overall
The Atrium Prestige Resort is amazing. The architecture is beautiful, everywhere is spotlessly clean, the staff friendly and professional, the food delicious and the ultra all-inclusive plan really is ultra.
If you want a peaceful, luxury, beachside holiday then look no further.
