ALL THE LINES: Lichfield TV to Birmingham New Street

Another little stretch of line I never got around to in the 1980's when I did around 90% of the rail network. Lichfield Trent Valley to Birmingham New Street. A very windy day so forgive the occasional wind on the mic noise. All started off well, apart from my Nikon D810 taking blurry pictures! But things did deteriorate at Erdington.
I was bitterly disappointed to see that New Street is still, despite 'improvements', a dark hole in the ground. I always hesitate to criticise any aspect of the railways but Birmingham is England's second city and New Street is it's premier station yet it's got worse since the 1980's. We all know what a difficult site it is but I guess it is destined to always be just a hole in the ground!
On a positive note or two, the coffee shop at Lichfield is a welcome oasis for sustenance if you're spotting or photting there. Lichfield City was another pleasant surprise, beautifully kept and worth hopping off there at some stage for a closer look.
