The DPA 4006A and 4011A are amongst the best and most expensive microphones money can buy; they are definitely amongst my favourite to use for the classical guitar. One is an Omni while the other is a Cardioid though, so a direct AB comparison about the quality of these microphones would not be fair.

I made these recordings as an attempt to find answers to the following questions: Can we use the Omni pattern in a small/medium room to record the classical guitar? Does Omni or Cardioid capture the best sound?
