** Sold June 2016 ** Currently for sale is my 1965 Dodge D100 Utiline.
Here is my 1965 Dodge, D100, Utiline. She's a half-ton model with a 225, Slant 6, four speed manual transmission with underdrive.
I've owned this truck from about a year now and she has served me well with the many trips to the dump and recycling center since my wife and I purchased our house last year. This Dodge has been the most consistent and reliable old vehicle I've owned. The Slant 6 starts easily every time and always runs smooth. The transmission is tight and accurate with hardly any play or slop in the movement. The clutch operates confidently and begins at the top of the pedal travel. The brakes are strong and positive and inspire confidence, and the truck drives and tracks straight.
Since purchasing this truck, my goal was to create a strong and reliable work truck that was still clean enough for my wife to get in with me. In the time that I've owned her I completed the following:
Replaced the rear axle seals,
Cut off and welded new rear spring perches,
Completed the rear axle flip lowering the rear about 6 inches,
Removed two front axle springs,
Recovered and double stuffed the seat,
Installed new air shocks in the rear, with 90 lbs. of air providing a level ride height,
New master cylinder and adjusted the brake pedal push rod,
New wheel cylinders, brake shoes and hardware on all four wheels,
New brake hoses in the front and rear,
Installed wood decking in the bed,
Discarded the host of aftermarket gauges and purchased and installed correct and functioning factory gauges,
Installed external voltage reducer for the 5 volts needed for the factory gauges,
Stripped the factory steel wheels, repainted in Navaho White and installed nearly new bias-ply wide white walls,
Stripped the grill, front bumper, door panels, dash gauge panel and other interior parts Navaho White,
Stripped and cleaned the floor, applied bed liner then repainted in Colonial Red
Since completed the truck I've enjoyed her, trouble-free. She has been dependable, reliable and consistent every time.
