In this Money Matters episode, I speak with a sister who reached out about her brother's devastating financial situation. Her brother, who is earning ₹31,000 monthly, fell into option trading and accumulated ₹7 lakh in credit card debt along with multiple personal loans totaling over ₹5 lakh. Despite the family clearing his debts once before by taking a home loan, he repeated the same mistakes and is now drowning in debt again.

I gave her some tough advice that many families need to hear - sometimes the most loving thing you can do is let someone face the consequences of their actions. The family's pattern of repeatedly bailing him out was actually enabling his destructive behavior. True recovery can only happen when he takes full responsibility for his mistakes and works to solve them himself, with emotional support but not financial rescue from his family.
