This short video is intended to help anyone with a Seiko mechanical watch with QUICK SET DATE functionality. If you try to quick set change the date around 11pm to 2am you may BREAK the movement. This video shows owners of these watches how to QUICK SET CHANGE the DATE without damaging the movement.

Basically - manually WIND the hours around until you move past MIDNIGHT. Watch the date change .. then keep on winding. Don't stop until you reach 6am at least. You are now in the SAFE ZONE. You may safely put the CROWN in to the HALF OUT / HALF IN (one click) position. Anti-clockwise winding of the crown will advance the DATE one day at a time. When you reach the desired date - pull the crown ALL THE WAY out and adjust the time.

When you have finished - push the crown back in and SCREW IT DOWN if it's a diver's watch
